AMPT Over Electric was founded in 2009 by master electrician Jorden McCullough. Back then, it was just Jorden, his tools, and a beat-up white Chevy Silverado that had seen better days. Money was tight – some weeks, scraping together enough for dog food was a victory. But Jorden had something more valuable than a new truck or a fat bank account: he had a vision for what a Calgary electrical company should be.
Jorden believed Calgary deserved electricians who did things the right way – not the fast way, not the cheap way, but the right way. He built AMPT one job at a time, earning trust through honest work and fair dealing. That struggling one-man operation grew into one of Calgary’s most respected electrical service providers.
For over 16 years, AMPT adapted to meet the changing electrical needs of Calgary homeowners. When electric vehicles became popular, we became certified EV charger installers. When Calgary’s older homes needed aluminum wiring remediation, we developed specialized expertise in safe upgrades. When homeowners wanted to reduce their energy bills, we added solar panel installation services.

Corey Hayes, who has led AMPT’s marketing since the company’s founding in 2009, stepped into the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Ryan Corsi, a journeyman electrician who worked alongside Jorden many times throughout the years, now serves as Chief Operating Officer, ensuring every job meets the standards Jorden set. Michelle Landry, a lifelong friend, took on the position of Chief Financial Officer, managing the business operations that keep AMPT running smoothly.
